CAA: Samajwadi Party workers stage protest in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Members of the Samajwadi Party on Tuesday held a demonstration at district collectorate in Lucknow against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, crime against women and alleged anti-farmer policies of the state government.
The workers and MLAs led by SP's city president Sushil Dixit held a procession from party office and reached Collectorate. The police had to resort to mild lathi-charge to stop the agitators from assembling at the venue in large number.Later, the party workers sat on dharna at the venue.
However, they ended the agitation after ACM (I) Santosh Vaishya accepted their memorandum.
